De Beringia a América del Sur: modelos, asunciones y olvidos. Notas acerca del poblamiento de América

La comprensión del poblamiento de América del Norte es, en el estado actual del conocimiento, un prerrequisito para discutir el de América del Sur. Por ello resulta útil evaluar las asunciones e implicaciones de los modelos de poblamiento de América en general, aunque raramente se relacionen en forma directa con América del Sur. La escasez de información básica en los lugares postulados como entradas potenciales a América dificulta tanto las evaluaciones como el crecimiento de los modelos de poblamiento. Más allá de eso, un tema central es la evaluación de la fuerza de las evidencias que se están utilizando para estas discusiones. La antigüedad del poblamiento es uno de los temas que más se debaten, en general debido a cuestiones metodológicas, que se comentarán en este trabajo.Referencias
