Abstract

In the south of Sierras de Tandil a paír of intrusives, a gabbro and a diorite, unconforrnably emplaced into the crystalline basement and crossed by 1750 million years old diabase dikes, have been recognized. They belong to a calcoalkaline suite, as inferred from its geochemical characteristics, and are related to a series of andesite and basandesite veins. These rocks could be interpreted as related to a convergent plates boundary previous to 1750 M.
