Abstract

Pachnolite was found in the El Criollo pegmatite, at Cerro Blanco, Córdoba province, Argentina. The mineral appears as colorless, transparent, idiomorphic crystals with prismatic habit measuring l mm in length and 0.5 mm across and also as white crusts; it is an alteration product of triplite. Unit cel1 values, X ray powder diffraction data, optical and physical properties are given.
